Renowned for her revisionist publications on art and gender in the early modern Low Countries, Andrea Pearson has helped to rewrite the art-historical record on the senses and emotions, same-sex eroticism, physical disability, and conceptions of agency. Her projects explore, in different ways and contexts, variety in visual response and the social tensions that surrounded it.
